Cookie policy

This site, in common with many others, uses cookies for various purposes. Below we explain what they are and how we use them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored by the browser (for example, Internet Explorer or Safari) on your computer or mobile phone. They allow websites to store things like user preferences.

A visit to a page on a With Intelligence website may generate several types of cookie.

Some cookies are required for visitors to be able to log in to our sites and for our site to function. These cookies cannot be switched off in our systems and are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies. Please note that if you block these types of cookie, you may not be able to use all of the functions of our site.

Consent to Cookies.

We will ask for your consent to store certain types of cookie on your browser. These include:

  • anonymous analytics cookies;
  • advertising cookies;
  • performance cookies; and
  • other performance cookies.

We have explained how each of these cookies operate in more detail below. You can withdraw your consent to these cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use all of the functions of our site.

Registration cookies.

There are several ways you may register with a With Intelligence site, for example you may sign up for a trial, subscribe to a newsletter or register for an event.

When you register, we generate cookies that let us know whether you are signed in or not.

Our servers use these cookies to work out which account you are signed in with, and if you are allowed access to a particular service.

If you have not selected “Remember Me”, these cookies get deleted after 30 days.

While you are signed into our sites, we combine information from your registration cookies with analytics cookies, which we could use to identify which pages you have seen on our sites.

Anonymous analytics cookies.

Every time someone visits our website, software provided by another organisation generates an “anonymous analytics cookie”.

These cookies can tell us whether or not you have visited the site before. Your browser will tell us if you have these cookies and, if you don’t, we generate new ones.

This allows us to track how many individual users we have, and how often they visit the site.

Unless you are registered with With Intelligence, we cannot use these cookies to identify individuals. We use them to gather statistics, for example, the number of visits to a page. If you are logged in, we will also know the details you gave to us for this, such as your username and email address.

Advertising cookies.

These cookies allow us to know whether or not you’ve seen an advert or a type of advert, and how long it is since you’ve seen it. These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. Those companies may use them to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other websites. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

Performance cookies.

This type of cookie is used to improve your experience, for example, our load balancer, which improves site speed, will use cookies to ensure your visit is not disrupted. These cookies may be set by us or third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, then some or all parts of the site may not function properly.

Other third party cookies.

On some pages of our website, other organisations may also set their own anonymous cookies. They do this to track the success of their application, or to customise the application for you. Because of how cookies work, our website cannot access these cookies, nor can the other organisation access the data in cookies we use on our website.

For example, when you share an article using a social-media sharing button, the social network that has created the button will record that you have done this.

How you can manage cookies.

You can manage cookies in a number of ways:

    • Cookie management tools: When you first visit our site, you may be presented with a banner that offers you choices about whether to accept or reject cookies or tracking technologies of different types.
    • Browser settings: Cookies can be blocked by changing your browser settings to refuse all or some cookies. If you choose to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of the site. You can find out more about cookies and how to manage them by visiting AllAboutCookies.org.
    • Advertising industry resources: You can understand which entities have currently enabled Cookies for your browser or mobile device and how to opt-out of some of those Cookies by accessing the Network Advertising Initiative’s website or the Digital Advertising Alliance’s website. For more information on mobile specific opt-out choices, visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s Mobile Choices website.

Please note that these mechanisms are specific to the device or browser on which they are exercised. Therefore, you will need to manage cookies on every browser and device that you use.
